Marley and Andrew’s Granby, CT Engagement Session

Thursday, May 31st, 2012

A few days ago I drove down to Granby, Connecticut for Marley and Andrew’s engagement session. They suggested a few locations, places that were a part of their life. To me that is what makes a portrait so much more of a meaningful image. Also, in this case, it meant a gorgeous lagoon, old barns, and wildflower fields near dusk. Not bad! They’re getting married at the end of July, and now that I’ve seen the spot they’ll be having their ceremony and celebration I absolutely cannot wait. See you soon Marley and Andrew, and thanks for the tour of beautiful Granby!

Lis & Mike’s Codman Estate Wedding

Friday, May 18th, 2012

Lis and Mike were married April 28, 2012 at the Codman Estate in Lincoln, MA. It was gorgeous day and took place in the incredible gardens behind the Estate, but there was a lot more that made this wedding special. There were so many personal, unique elements…Lis wore her mother’s wedding dress from 30 years before, they worked in beautiful Roman themes while keeping traditional pieces as well, just to name a few. This in addition to two incredibly kind people exchanging their vows and enjoying their day with the people who love them. I enjoyed every moment of this day, and I’m pretty sure every single other person there did as well. Thank you Lis and Mike! Yours was a wedding I will never forget.

When I photograph a newborn I want to capture the moments that I wish I could remember more clearly from my first days and weeks with my daughter, Esme. I don’t have any regrets for not having pictures of her with a giant pink bow on her back or snuggled into some strange, womb-like knit stocking. I wish I had images to remind me how small she was in our arms and how quiet our time together was.

So, a few days ago I spent a quiet morning with an old friend and her baby boy to try to capture just that for her. These are a few of my favorite images.

And her first baby, Cole.
