Anya and Andy’s Lyman Estate Wedding

Tuesday, September 25th, 2012

Andy and Anya were married August 31, 2012 at the Lyman Estate in Waltham, MA. It was Summer at its best with bright, beautiful flowers (Katie of Sweet Annie Floral Design did an incredible job) and sunshine and warm breezes into the night. Anya has this enthusiasm and happiness about her that makes her beauty that much more distinct. Andy is tall, dark, and handsome (and British!), and is so kind and funny. They met while Anya was studying abroad in England, and now, after 12 years and countless trans-Atlantic flights, they are here, together, and starting their marriage on a beautiful note and with the love and support of their family on both continents. Cheers to you, Andy and Anya!

Stephanie and Matt’s Berkshires Wedding

Wednesday, September 12th, 2012

Last month I had the opportunity to shoot alongside Casey of Hello Love Photography for Stephanie and Matt’s Berkshires wedding. I’ve only second-shot a few times, but every time I have I’ve left feeling so excited, so inspired in new ways, and with a refreshed perspective on photographing weddings. There’s something about learning and collaborating with someone who does the same thing you do, but in slightly different ways and with different outcomes. I love taking the lead and being in charge of getting you the best images of your wedding, but, occasionally, stepping back and shooting from the sides is just too great an experience to pass up.

Knowing Casey was capturing everything beautifully gave me the opportunity to shoot all film, which if you know me you know makes me very happy! The wedding and reception was held at The Pastures…a stunning and truly unique setting. Here are a few of my favorite images. Enjoy!

Nothing like a funny bride…and Stephanie had us laughing so hard with her portrait poses…

And…surprise! Stephanie and Matt’s family hired professional fire-dancers and musicians to end the night on an amazing note.

Kris and Amy’s Wedding

Friday, September 7th, 2012

I always feel like the weddings I photograph are those of my friends, but for this one it is especially true. Sweet Amy, my brilliant, funny, amazingly interesting and accomplished friend, and her equally all-of-those-great-things new husband, Kris. Together with their families they created a truly lovely, one-of-a-kind backyard wedding. Flowers were hand-picked the day before from Parlee Farms, amazing food provided by Touched by Fire (mobile wood fired pizza!), personalized mason jars, antique typewriters, book centerpieces, a made-for-Amy Free People dress, Frye boots, and a hundred other details that they pulled together to create a celebration that could be no one else’s but theirs. And it was beautiful.
